About The 2nd book

The book is an anthology of personal memoirs, spanning a few decades of unraveling the urban heritage of three top Indian metropolises – Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. It is based on cherry-picking of stories narrated by the travel guides at heritage sites, scholarly talks and seminars, personal interactions with archaeological experts, and visits to museums and libraries. The stories are neither imaginary nor apocryphal. They rely on relics and structures that are real, mostly in a dilapidated state, and can be visited with a little pain and patience. The book, however, does not claim to be a historical documentation, nor a travel guide. It is meant for those who love to indulge in exploring the enriching legacy of the past from the tidings of antiquity and stitching them in a continuum of time we live through.
